We Need a vs. French Name
My family is German and I thought it would a nice honor to them by giving my child a German first name. We have a list of names for girl that we would like to use. We’ll post them as a comment - thanks!

Sorry major typo from my husband’s orginial poll :-/. He posted about French names, I was posting about German. I guess that is what I get for copying and pasting.

Oh okay that makes more sense =)
Carolina/Karolina - Prefer the original Carolina spelling
Elsie - Cute
Gisela - Not one of my favourites but it may be perfect for you since it’s both French and German.
Greta - Greek in origin but it may be used in Germany, though I prefer the German Gretl.
Gretchen - This is actually not a name used in Germany it is more a pet form of Margaret.
Heidi - a cute form of Adalheid but a tad cliche as far as German names go.
Johanna - Nice, sounds more Hebrew (has Hebrew origin) to me but it is used in Germany.
Katrina - is of Greek origin and not used in Germany to my knowledge.
Kristen/Kristin - Not one of my favourites; Used in Germany but of Latin origin.
Lorelei - Really pretty. Means Murmuring Rock.
Minna - One of my favourites!
Sanne - Pretty but I think you’ll run into many mispronunciation problems.
Willa - Another favourite of mine!
