I think it sounds fine. The only problem is, If you hadn’t told how it was pronounced, I wouldn’t have known. Others may have the same problem and pronounce it, spell it, or say it wrong. But if you like it and you don’t mind if people will do that, I say, GO FOR IT! GL!

I too think it will more than likely be pronounced wrong. I don’t care for the name at all but I love Cale or Kale.

People will probably call him Cale since Chael is the ending to Michael. I think his name would be mispronounced his whole life. And I actually like Cale better too.

I like it but I agree that pronunciation might be a problem.

We love the name Chael too. We are worried about it being mispronounced too often. It is hard for us to agree on names so I really hope we end up using it! I do not like Cale.

I named my son Chael. It was mispronounced a few times but thats ok. Most people get it right. His full name is Chael Ryker Bowie.

My name is Chael, but I pronounce it like Cole.

My name is Cha’el (I am a woman) and it is pronounced Shay-el. My parents combined the first half of both of their names to get it. It has been mispronounced my entire life and I was not find of it at all as a child. Now as an adult, I truly appreciate the uniqueness of it and am always complimented on it. At the same time, it was really nice to stumble across this blog and to see others who share my name as well. It’s so rare but I’ve grown to love it and I’m sure your child will too.

My little boy is called Chael, I first heard it whilst watching the UFC and I loved it straight away. It was unique. When we found out I was having a little boy at my ultra sound I kept going back to that name, originally I thought as a middle name. When he was born ’Chael’ really suited him. After a bit of research i realised there wasn’t much info about the name Chael but what I could find indicated ’shortened version of Michael’... Which turns out to be what my partner is called😂, strong, leader, God like. And you know what? that’s my little boy to a tee. I hope as he grows up he loves it too
