James -- Love it! vs. James -- Too plain! vs. James -- Hate it!

Hi! My husband and I are expecting a boy and we like the name James, but were wondering what you all thought. It is a tradition for the 1st boy in each family to have the initials JR, so if you could suggest other J and R names. Also, he may go by his middle name. We haven’t truly found a name that we both love yet. Thank you!

If you both like it, then you’re lucky to have found a name you both are happy with, so use it! I personally am not a fan of this name, it’s just way too common for me. But the fact of the matter is, that this name is timeless and perfect for a boy at any age.

I don’t really like James. All the james in my family went to jail, and it’s just a boring name. Jimmy’s okay though. Here are some other suggestions:
