Max vs. Maxine vs. for a girl

Ok, so i am watching a movie, and the little girls name in it is Maxine, but they call her Max. I think its cute, but is it too out there for a girl?

My mothers name was Maxine and she went by Mack. I see nothing wrong with calling her Max

LOVE it! Is the movie Orphan, by chance? I fell in love with it from that movie. She was so sweet and adorable.

Oh my gosh i knew that movie was orphan. Great name. Little Max is sooo cute! Cute name for a girl too. I hate it when people name their kids esther because its such a scary name for me now. Good Luck!

I am really leaning towards Maxine, Max for short, but it doesn’t go with the middle name we have selected, which is Kathryn.

Thanks for the suggestions!! I am absolutely stuck on Kathryn for the middle name. I have two older daughters, Leah Joelle and Emma Kaitlyn, so those four names are obviously out, lol. But Maxine Kathryn just doesn’t flow.... :-(

Well, it isn’t all that bad. Since Kathryn is there to stay, forget about Maxine if the flow is really bothering you, or just go for it! I don’t know for you, but I don’t really get all this fuss about middle names... In my experience, they very rarely get used, so why not just pick names you love?

I don’t really like Max. Boy or Girl. Just honest. I would expect a maxi pad comment, too me it sounds like a dog name too. Maxine for sure if you go with it. I just think there are better names. Best of luck either way

i think Maxine nn Max is fine, and i think Maxine Kathryn is fine too, go for it!
