Emily Estelle vs. Addison Estelle vs. Gwendolyn Estelle

The middle name has a very special meaning to me, as it is my middle name, my grandma’s middle name and her mother’s middle name as well. Was trying to think of first names to go with it.

The Top Baby Name is...

Emily Estelle

Addison Estelle

Gwendolyn Estelle

Emily and Gwendolyn are lovely. But Addison is a disease (a form of tuberculosis.) Adeline or Adelaide would be better.

Actually Addison means son of Adam, and is also number 26 on the baby center website poll. So a lot of people must think of it as a nice name, not a disease! All of those names are very sweet, Emily Estelle is my fav, but it was a tough decsion!

I think that estelle is absolutely beautiful. I think Gwendolyn would be a perfect match. It is underused, gorgeous and it flows wonderfully. Even though many votes went to Emily, I really think you should consider this one, it would certainly be my choice.

I also think of Addisons Disease when I hear the name. Gwen is cute and Emily is sweet and classic.

I voted for Emily Estelle which is beautiful. However, I would also love Gwendolen Estelle with this spelling. I dislike Addison which doesn’t seem remotely feminine to me. I do love the similar Adela, Adele , Adelaide and Adeline though.

Funny, Gwendolyn is the name we have chosen for a girl, and Addison for a boy. My husband’s name is Adam, and Addison means "son of Adam". It is not a "new" name as many believe. It was actually popular in the 1800’s as a boy’s name.
I think your choice would depend on the last name and how it sounds with it. I obviously love Gwendolyn, but Emily sounds nice. I, just in my opinion, think Addison is a bad choice simply because it’s a boy’s name and that’s my future son’s name. :)
