Adopting a little girl from China! vs. Our original name doesn’t fit
We received the info and picture of the little girl we are adopting from China last week! We were planning on calling her McKenzie but after seeing her picture the name simply doesn’t fit! Her current name is Da-Xia (it means long summer). We’re kicking around calling her Daxia or Dax for short but it’s a little different. We’ve already ruled out Summer (Jack’s ex girlfriend was named Summer and he just isn’t very keen on it!) I am open to any suggestions and I am SOOOO excited!! Thankyou!

I love McKenzie or Makenna. Her name will fit her because it is her name. She will change in looks, etc. However, I do think that it is wonderful that you want to keep her name only Americanize it. That is truly an act of love.
HOw is Daxia pn? like dax-ee-uh? I don know that letters don’t have the same pronounciation in China.

A name is a name. I don’t but into this name fitting a person thing... Don’t call the kid Daxia its just weird!
