I just think it is an unattractive name. To me, it wounds like magnets or maggots or magnum. Maybe I’m just weird.

Awful..where do people like you keep coming up with these off the wall names?

"Powerful name with a commanding quality,it dates back to Charlemagne being called Carolus Magnus, or Charles the Great. A royal name in Scandinavia."

I think it’s great. If you like go for it.

We understand what the meaning is, but that doesn’t help the name sound any better. Its not like when people address the kid they are going to say, "Hey your greatness". They are going to call him Magnus or whatever word they think Magnus sounds like.

I like it! I’ve only heard of one guy with the name. I was in highschool and heard someone say his brother Magnus Jay blah blah, I tuned him out cuz I was infatuated with the name! I immediately pictured some handsome strong man. I say go for it!

I cannot get over how disrespectful people can be. All you have to say is, ’I don’t really care for it.’ and then maybe give a suggestion for a name you think would be better.

I for one am not partial to the name what about Maximillian or Marcus if your going for M’s. I like Alaster if your going for a kind of older fashioned unused name. Good luck!

And people: keep it kind, pregnant ladies are senstive and hormonal and these kind of awful comments could really upset someone. I for one have burst into tears watching Shirley Temple ;)

i quite like it, i think it sounds strong and masculine, and it’s unique without being too strange, very Scandinavian. but it does remind me of an elder from the Spyro games!
