aww, I feel bad for you, what country do you live in? I think it would be mocked where I live in the U.S., do you have a nickname maybe Evie or Vivvy are both cute or Eve, maybe you could change your name to Evy?

Odd question. I certainly wouldn’t give my child this name, but if you’re happy with it, why ask? And if you’re considering changing it, I think you have a legitimate reason.

I am not going to change my name or planning on it. Everyone seems to like it but me so I was wondering what other people thought. Sometimes I’m called V or Emmy.

A friend of mine is thinking of naming her daughter ENVY. But she keeps catching slack. So she is torn. I like the fact that it’s a short, to the point, STRONG name. It grows on you after a while. I figure if she spells it different than the original word it won’t be as harsh of a word? or have a negative connotation? right?? SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK? Thanks.

I’m about 4 years late commenting on this but I love that name. I am going to name my daughter Envy too someday. It brings to mind the color green, which I love. And people argue that it has a negative connotation, but seriously to quote Shakespeare, what’s in a name?

Also, with names like Apple and Blue these days, what kids can even tease each other? And how many 6 year olds know what Envy means anyway?

My daughter is an Envy. I also have a Karma (envy's twin), Noah, Finlay, Elli, Myles and Hunter. When you think about it they are beautiful names. Envy and Karma are also very basic spelling so when you think about it, there will be very little mis-pronunciations. My name is Zofia and the amount of times I got Sh-off-yah, Zo-f-eye-uh and Zofya was really annoying. I know the correct polish pronunciation is Z-off-yah but I have my name pronounced as Zo-fee-ah. But then again with a lastname like Attwood, they''re more likely to get payed out on the whole Roman Atwood Vlogs' than their first name.

I'm years late to commenting on this, but I think envy is a great name, I'm actually considering changing my name to envy. Although the meaning of the word may seem off putting I think it's really beautiful! Envy is a feeling a lot of people have in life, we can not always be content with what we want and unfortunately we can't do anything about it. We're humans after all and we need to feel these sort emotions. Envy to me represents the flow of life, I think it's a graceful name with a deeper meaning! It also sounds similar to ivy, which makes me think of flourishing plants and nature. I think I went overboard with this paragraph but this is truly what I believe. Be proud of your name!
