Style Clash? vs. Please HELP!
I think I have a serious problem. I am having a difficult time overcoming my obsession with trying to find names that "go with" or "match" Genevieve. There are many girls names we like or love for our almost-here baby girl, but that I don’t feel go well enough with Genevieve. This is something my husband and I are disagreeing on. WDYT? Am I crazy for thinking names like Lila(h) or Nora(h) don’t go with the name Genevieve? Please suggest some others that might work. Thanks!

I like it, but my husband jokingly pronounces it pen-uh-loup (like cantaloupe) because he doesn’t like it, so it’s a no. Thank you!

Poster 2: We already have Genevieve, we’re looking for a name for her sister that doesn’t clash. If you’re suggesting Geneva for her sister, I think those are too close. Thanks!

IMO, you’re a bit obsessed. Don’t worry so much about how similar the styles are.
I say pick out a name that you love equally as much as Genevieve and let everything else go. The second name you choose can’t help but go together with the first because it’ll match the only "style" that matters, YOURS!

I think Lila goes perfectly with Genevieve as would Eleanor nn Nora.
I do like many of the other suggestions you’ve gotten, but if Lila and Nora are the ones you love, I think they work fine.
All three names are classic beauties that speak of a gentler time gone by.
I can easily imagine an English story book with sisters called Lila and Genevieve or a souther plantation with little belles called Genevieve and Nora.

Thank you everyone! Yes, I know I’m obsessed, but I have a name that has caused me trouble over the years and I want ’perfect’ names for my little ones.
Thanks for the suggestions. I really like:
Eleanora, but we have a mean grandmother with this name
Adeline, not sure how to pronounce it though
Farrah
Charlotte, but that’s my cats name
Amelie
Viviana, or Vivian, but may be too close to Genevieve (lots of V sounds)
Lillian
Juliana, or Julianne/Julienne
Violet
Susannah
Caroline
and i LOVE Anneliese (spelled this way), but it will take some convincing. My husband doesn’t like double names (in this case Anne and Elise).
Thanks, I really appreciate the help!

I don’t get this. I never understand what people mean when they say they want the names to "go together."
My aunt name her daughters Ashley, Amanda and Aleah...thinking that the A’s make them "go together." I don’t think that’s the case, though. The A’s just make them similiar in that they all start with A’s.
I have a friend who said her mother named them (her and two sisters) Erin, Megan and Breanne because the N-endings made them "go together," but again, the names are completely different.
I think whatever names you choose will "go together" because they are your children.
With that being said, choose whatever name you actually do like:*)
