Rex is actually a great name. It’s Latin for "king". I didn’t like it until I met a grown Rex - and he was a great guy. The name totally grew on me.
Dislike Hugo, sounds strange to me and looks like "huge". Also dislike Alfie, it seems nickname-y and immature.

I don’t think these names are cute for a baby. I also thought of a dog when I read this names. What about the name Milo? I like this name for a boy, and it sort of has the same style as Hugo and the others. Some other suggestions:

Leo
Max
Miles
Ray
Jace
Zane
Alec
Drake
Chance
Remi

Do you like any? I love Leo, Remi, Max and Chance. They are all on my list.

Love Hugo! Rex is too much a dog name for me... And Alfie would be okay on a child, but he would need a more formal name as an adult--it just won’t age well by itself. Alfred, though, would be great!
