Personally, I do not like it when people use boy names on girls. The spelling does look feminine and I don’t think most people would object. In fact, many people like it as a girl name. I just think it is a shame when girls start taking the boy names and then boys with perfectly masculine names feel like they have been saddled with a girlie names. So, I guess it is fine for the girl who gets the name, but it sucks for all the little boy Camerons out there. You are on the right track by spelling it with a "y" though, because that does make it more feminine. It also sounds nice with Alexis and I do like the nickname you mentioned.

I’m really into meanings of names. Cameron and all the trendee (which looks uneducated/juvenile) spellings means crooked nose. I would never use it. I’d prefer something feminine with a nice meaning for a girl.

I think it is a perfectly fine name to use for a girl, no matter what the meaning of it is. I think it is a beautiful name, and flows very nicely with the mn Alexis. The nn for Camryn are also quite nice.
I definitely agree that it looks more feminine when spelt with a "y" and it even sounds slightly different from "cameron". Cameron has the ending sound "roon" whereas Camryn has the ending sound "rin".

Thats wierd! My youngest daughter’s name is Cameryn Alexis but she goes by Cam. I really don’t think MOST people would not think that the meaning crooked nose is true. Good Luck!

Usually, my position agrees with the first person, but I actually like Camryn on a girl. Camryn Alexis is beautiful and I like Cami too. And about the meaning, when she gets older and looks it up, she’ll probably think it’s funny that her name means crooked nose. Good Luck!
