Names that vs. are associated vs. with teen pregnancy?

Hi- My name is Katherine and I’m 17 and pregant. I’m a senior in high school and am expecting my boyfriend of 3 years baby. While this isn’t exactly the way we imagined our senior year, we are trying to make the most of it are getting excited for Baby. Baby is due the 2nd week of November and we are starting to think more seriously of names. I am absolutely adament about not naming Baby a "typical teen pregnancy name" but a name just as meaningful and beautiful as any baby born to any family. I was wondering what names you associate with teen pregnancy so that we can steer away from them. Thanks so much for your help! ~katherine and jordan

i think you should pick a name that you adore because its your baby and i recieved hate mail for being a teen and being pregnant so just know im on ur side. peace.

Congratulations, a baby is a blessing no matter what. I was also 17 when I had my first born (I am now expecting my fifth child-another boy). I would suggest a name that means a lot to you, such as after a parent or someone important in your/your boyfriend’s life. Maybe stick to more traditional/classic names.

thanks pinkcamo14!! i just don’t want the baby to have to deal with that association for their whole life. its awful that people find certain names typical of teen pregnancy, but they do, and i would hate to just fuel the fire, ya know? people that have babies at a "normal" time can name their baby a trendy name and just have it be trendy while teens are looked down on for naming their baby something trendy. its just the way it is, i guess.

so far we’re thinking Norah/Nora if its a girl and Spencer is its a boy. Whaddya think?

I love Nora and Spencer! Very classy names that will age well. Maybe if you like a trendier name you could use it as a mn? Like Nora Everleigh or Spencer Jackson, something like that. GL!

We’re thinking Norah Grace after Jordan’s grandmother who passed away this year and Spencer David which convineantly happens to be both of our father’s names! And thanks everyone! We are starting to see how much of a blessing this baby is!

What a great idea! Norah Grace and Spencer David are both cute and flow nicely. I think a name that has some meaning makes it much more special. All of my children have 1 name after someone. Good luck with your little blessing!

I love love love your name choices! They are so cute, but I would leave the h off of Nora. I just think its a little prettier that way.
I am 17 and definitely agree that people stereotype teens who name their children way more than adults who name their children. Its ridiculous.
I wish you the best of luck with your baby. You sound like you will make a great mom!

Love both Nora & Spencer!
A family friend had a baby at 17, the father was 20 and they both have been wonderful, responsible, loving parents that have put both of their kids through college.
I also know a mid-30’s couple that left their kids due to drug problems...
Name your baby whatever you think it’s beautiful...GL!
