Lily vs. not Lily

Bit of a naming dilemma - DS is named William (but always known as Will) and DH and I want to name our daughter (due in February) Lily. We’re worried that people will call them "Willy and Lily". Would love your thoughts :) Felice xxx

Just call him Will, and if people say Willy, say, "Oh! We prefer Will, Willy sounds like someones senile great-uncle" or something.

Then again, "Will and Lily" is quite a tongue twister. You can do Lily if you want to. You could also use:
Lilah
Lila
Lilian
Lucy
Laura
Leah

Ok I might be a bit slow or something but I keep seeing people put DH on here and I just can’t figure it out. I assume the H means husband? What’s the D?
As for your poll... lol =)
I love the name Lily. Not sure about the Willy/Lily dilemma.

So no one actually knows what it means but everyone uses it? lol!
Poster, what did you think it meant since you also used it for her brother as DS? S meaning sibling maybe? Still leaves the D to be determined... hmmm...

D is either Darling or Dear.
Dear/ Darling husband - DH
Dear/ Darling Son - DS
Dear/ Darling Daughter - DD
That’s what those mean.

I think that people will follow whatever you call your children. If you don’t say Willy then they probably won’t either and if they do say it just laugh like they made a joke and say ’Oh that sounds terrible. Lucky he is called Will.’ Most people will get the message then.
I think Lily is a pretty name so if your loving it then go for it. GL

Folks will say Willy and Lily (which btw is too popular for my tastes sorry!) There are so many less overused L-names than the Lilys. Would you like some non-rhyming w/ Will suggestions?
