Sylvia Margaret vs. Margaret Sylvia

Hi, we’re expecting our third child and she’s due next month! We can’t seem to decide on which combo we like best though. Sylvia is after my maternal grandmother and Margaret is after DH’s (her name was Margriet, which is the Dutch form). We already have Hugo Theodore, 7 (named after my and DH’s fathers), and Anna-Rose Jane, 4 (named after our mothers, Anneke and Rosette, and me). Thanks! Jana, Mike, Hugo, Annie and baby girl

Sylvia Margaret is darling! I think Sylvia Margriet would actually be quite stunning! As a middle, the ethnic variant stands out more. I think Sylvia Margriet fits in most fantastically with Hugo Theodore & Anna-Rose Jane. Absolutely stunning! :D

I agree. Use Margriet!! It is such a beautiful name, and not over used!!
Sylvia Margriet would fit right in with her brother and sister!!

Best of luck!

Thanks for your comments, the only reason we’re not seriously considering Margriet is because the pronounciation is tricky (the g is pronounced like the German ’ch’.

I forgot to put it in the poll, either way she’ll probably get called Maggie by family members (only occasionally though).
