i think they are a little too close. how about making those be the nn.

They rhyme and sound very similar. They’re too close for twins. What about Kaia Amelia and Tyson Dennison, or Kylie Amelia and Tyler Dennison, at the very least?

Thanks! To the second poster: how would it make a difference if we call them by their nicknames anyway? But I see what you mean - we’re saying Kai like the letter K. Would Kaye be better?

I prefer the spelling Kai over Kaye

Kai is a boys name

Shae and Ty
Kay and Ty
Maya and Ty

When I see the spelling Kai I would pronounce it K-y like Ty. Kay would make more since if thats how you are wanting it pronounced.

We like Kay too, although to us Kai looks somehow more feminine. Oh well. ;) Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

kai is not pronounced like Kay. it’s pronounced like kye (rhymes with Ty) and it’s a boy name

If you want her name to be pronounced like K, spell it Kay

how can it be more feminine? It’s a boys name!

kai will never be pronounced like "k"

spell it Kay, Kaye, Cay, Caye or even Cae

We have a boy at our church named Kai (said Ky) If you want Ty & Kay you need to spell it that way, otherwise it’s like Ty & Ky which is too matchy

What about Kate and Ty?

I agree with posters. Kai is a boys name.

Kye could be more feminine if you are going for that pronunciation. Otherwise, Kay is your best bet if you want it to sound like "K".

I also like Tye for a boy, but you can’t use both! Tye and Kaye? Tye and Cae ("K")? Tynan and Cate/Cait? :D

I think we’ve strayed from the fact that these are not names, these are nicknames. For one, Kai is pronounced Kye, like everyone else is saying, and is a boy name. Two, the way you want it pronounced is actually a letter, not a name. Why would you want to name your daughter a letter? What about Kaelyn and Tyson? Or anything giving these nickname? I would never take an adult named Kay or Ty seriously in the real world.
