I love the name. It’s a very all-American type name. However, if I had to pin an origin to it, I’d say it sounds more Gaelic, but not overly so.

Any. I mostly know it on white, but I think it’s cute on any:) I could see a sweet hispanic boy Ryan, a strong african american boy cute asian.

Are you afraid of it sounding too much like a certain nationality? I know people of several different races with the name.
