It doesn’t really matter, I know a girl named Priya, and she is definitely not Indian

I agree with the poster above. Although every Priya I’ve ever known has in fact been Indian.. And I do actually prefer Bria.

Re: Priya being Indian-You have to decide for yourselves if it matters but consider that before people meet her, if they hear that name, they will probably assume she is Indian (like on a resume). I have only ever known Indians with that name. People assume I am Chinese because of the last name Lee.
