Mathilde vs. Matilda

Our child will be half German, half American. We live in the US. We like the name Matilde/Matilda with the nickname Tillie, but are wondering how to spell it. We would pronounce it Matild-ah in English even if we spelled it Mathilde. We would call her Tillie all the time. Thanks.

If you live in the US, use Matilda. There would be less problems with spelling and pronunciation. Good luck!
