Emalie ??? vs. Needs a Middle Name

Hello Im having my first daughter and me and my husband love the name Emalie but its kinda popular so we decided to spell it Emalie. Do you think this is a dumb idea? Also we need middle names! The last name is Miller! Thanks so much!

Yes I do think it’s a dumb idea. Take it from a real Emily. However, if you are determined to corrupt the spelling of a beautiful name, change it completely to Emma-Leigh.

I think Emily is a gorgeous name but to be honest spelling it wrong will just make it harder for her. She will constantly have to correct people and it will get mispronounced. She will be unique it doesn’t matter if someone else shares her name.

If you do change the spelling, I’m pretty sure the French spelling is Emilie. So either Emily or Emilie, but not Emalie.
