Asher Hayes vs. Hayes Anderson vs. Hayes Willliam

My husband and I are still working on our list of baby names. He really likes the name Asher, but I am not sold on it for some reason. We both want something that sounds masculine without being too pretentious. Our last name is Bucco (pronounced \"Book-o\"). I also had your concerns 16 years ago about masculinity and the name Asher. However 16 years later, he is the most macho kid around, is planning to study medicine at Adelaide University (I completed my Law degree there) and his 19 year old brother is studying veterinary medicine there also - one of the top universities in Australia. Asher is a keen footballer and his team recently won the state grand final. He has a string of girls running after him. He has never had any other comments about his name other than teachers and various others comment on what a lovely name it was.
