Teens planning on vs. Getting pregnant???

Hi I’m Corrie I am 26 years old I am not pregnant but I have a question. As I was browsing through the polls on here and just hearing in everyday life it seems like the only thing teens talk about is babies. Baby names,clothes,how to become pregnant. I even read a poll on here about a 17 year old who left her boyfriend of 4 years for his brother because he refused to get her pregnant. I don’t understand I’m 26 and still am not ready for a baby. Is something wrong with me? Shouldn’t teens be thinking about cheerleading and not I’m pregnant oh no is it gonna be keep the baby and struggle, do a heart wrenching adoption and give up your baby or abortion? Wouldn’t you rather wait untill your ready so you won’t think about such hard things?

i’m 14 and see an huge problem in it. i mean, i love babies and i know i want kids but my god! I’d have to have an abortion or adoption because of my age and that is traumatizing. planning on having a baby before 18 is stupid and wrong for the life of the baby

I’m sixteen as well, but I am a VIRGIN and proud of it! Teens on this site are ridiculous, but luckily there aren’t that many. I think if people avoided picking fights with them, the polls would go away. They mostly do it to get attention, and if we don’t comment they won’t get it.

Cheers for poster 9! Perhaps the world is not yet doomed.

Karina - yea, that was a bit uncalled for, though I do see your point of view. Just no need to put it... that way.

About the teens here saying they’re trying, maybe some part aren’t, really. Just getting on people’s nerves because they’re bored.
And those who are... Lord help them.

Anyone else noticed all the teens here trying to get pregnant... just can’t spell anything right? Or just build up a whole sentence...
And sound suspiciously alike...

I’m 14, a virgin, and I will be a virgin for a long time! I’m on this site because I love names and like hearing others’ opinions on them. I think having kids under 18 is ridiculous (no offence) because your are still a kid yourself! You have your whole life to make huge decisions like having a child. I think only when you are financially stable, are in a loving and strong relationship and are able to care for children and love them then you should consider having them. For the child’s sake.
I know I want kids one day but not for a long time.

Un excuse me? You have just generalised a whole generations of teenagers that have had sex? How dare you. You may have slept around as a teen but I can assure you, the rest of us are different. And can use grammar correctly.

No, she generalised all teenagers alive.

Yes, everyone decides what to make of their lives. Only some think about decisions.

I’m not calling anyone names here. And I really think it depends on the situation for us to judge a person.

But this teen here, with a grammar so bad I hope it’s a joke, saying stuff like that. We can only say f* off and get a life, which does not mean getting pregnant and ruining her and the child’s life!
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 18:30:19 | report
How am I ruining my child’s life I’m 17 and I know I’ll be a good mom,and thats why I wanna get pregnant and unlike my dumb sister not give my baby up for adoption

I -said- it depended on the situation. If you actually know what you’re doing, and know you can take care of a child, than it’s up to you.

The comment was directed to the teen with the bad grammar on this poll, saying every teen in 2011 was not possibly a virgin, and who said otherwise was dumb and blablabla.

I’m 17 aswell and I will get pregnant just to show my dumb sister how stupid she was to give up my nephew Aiden

Your dumb sister made a family that couldn’t have children be able to start their own family. You are obviously ignorant. If you see it like that, then you will not be a good mother.
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 18:39:27 | report
Your sister is a better mother than you will ever be, she made a family happy, and did what is best for her child.

I will not be a good mother how? My sister wilingly had sex carried the child gave birth to it and gave up her own flesh and blood that came out of HER

No I’m not trying to cause drama I’m trying to find out how can giving your child up be a good thing?
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 18:58:22 | report
Because if you are incapable of looking after a child then giving it away to a family that can’t have children who have to adopt is the best thing to do. You are probably some bored 10-year old with nothing to do. If not then I worry for your child.
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 21:12:19 | report
No I’m not 10 I’m 17 and adoption sickens me
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 21:31:19 | report
How does it sicken you? I would never be able to carry a child for nine months and then give it up, but some people don’t want the child or can’t care for it, so it is best for the kid. Adoption is a good way for couples without children to start a family. How does this sicken you?
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 21:39:17 | report
No no it dosen’t sicken me when an alcoholic gives their baby up but when a normal good teen like my sister gives her child up it’s sicking
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 21:45:00 | report
How is it?
If she doesn’t want the child, it is better then raising it into a loveless family.
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 21:56:51 | report
While I do not think teen pregnancy is glamorous or a great thing, if it wasn’t for it, I wouldn’t be here. My mother had me when she was in her teens and while we did struggle she was still a good mother.

In my opinion adoption is a selfless thing and a very brave decision. My best friend had a child when we were in high school. She knew she did not have the stability or the resources that are needed to raise a child so she gave her up for adoption. The couple that adopted her daughter had tried for ten years to have a child and were unable to. They told my friend that she was their angel sent from heaven. She never once regrets her choice because she knows her daughter has the best life she possibly can have.

No she wanted to keep Aiden it’s her stupid bf that said aiden needs a better life.
posted by guest :: 2011-08-08 22:02:43 | report
Maybe giving the child away to a family that could give more love and care for the child more was the better idea. I don’t understand why you hate adoption so much.

I’m 18 almost 19. I love coming on here and discussing names for hopefully my future children with my boyfriend who is also 18.

We have already agreed what we would need before even trying to make a family and we know it won’t be for at least another 6 years.

I just enjoy picking names and seeing which ones we both love. We actually have all the names we will ever need and know exactly what names we’re using first.

My whole point is not every teen on here thinks pregnancy is a glamorous thing and wants to have a baby right now at such a young age.

Also, to the people who think 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom glamorize teen pregnancy you’re wrong. I use to be one of those teens who wanted a baby at 17 but after seeing the reality and stress of having a baby so young I’ve completely changed the way I view teen pregnancy. It’s such a shame that some people don’t understand but those are good shows to have teens watch.

Oh and not every teen is a [removed]. I don’t know why the girl up there thinks that. Me and my boyfriend were in love and waited till we were ready. He was 18 before ever even having sex before. We’ve been together 1 year and 6 months and making plans on buying a house next year in case anyone was wondering.

Yes, we want to wait until we are financially stable and have our own place to live. Neither one of us have ever even had a job before and we just started our first year in college. I can’t imagine having a child right now. I’ll only be 24-25 that’s still young.

Yay to the girls who are still virgins,yay to the girls who might not be but are still not planning on having babies anytime soon. For those who think that no teenage girl in 2011 can/would still be a virgin, what a stupid and immature comment. There are obviously some girls who have some self respect and those that doubt them should be ashamed of themselves.

I’m 18 and not a virgin. Are you gonna bash me now?
posted by guest :: 2011-08-09 08:36:22 | report
I’m 15, and I come on here just because I love names. No, as for now, I don’t plan on having sex until I am married, let alone actually trying for a child. I am shocked at girls my age and a bit older who are actually planning to have children. I think it is a sad world we live in, that that has become okay. But I’m not going to judge them; it is their life, their decision, consequences they will have to deal with. All I can do is pray, and maybe try to dissuade them from what they are doing. I am not saying that they will not make good mothers; I am just saying that maybe they would make better mothers once they are stable, and have had the chance to live their lives. I hope any teen reading this who is planning to have a baby will rethink it, for the baby’s sake and theirs. God bless.
