Bethany vs. Stephanie

I want to name her Bethany, my husband wants Stephanie. Neither of us want to compromise and we can’t use one as a first and the other as a middle because they sound so similar.

Why dont you name her Stephanie Beth, or Stephanie Elizabeth?

I like Bethany.. but both names are really common, I think I would go with something more unique.

I like Stephanie.
And no.. they aren’t really common anymore. They are probably common among adults but not kids. Most little girls are getting "unique" names like Addison, Madison, Mackenzie, Jaelyn, Kaylyn etc.

Stephanie is cute and more modern. Bethany sounds stuffy and is a bit dated. I also dislike the nickname Beth.
