1st daughter mn is KATE vs. can I name daughter #2 Katherine?
What do you guys think of this? My first daughters name is Kate, just Kate. A few years have passed now, and I would love to name my second daughter Katherine, but we would probably call her Kate. Is this weird? I know its redundant. Any suggestions?

Are you suggesting that you have two daughters that you call Kate? That would be weird and confusing. What about Katrina or Katarina (nn Kat)? Or use Katherine as a middle name.

Your first daughter has the mn Kate? And you want to name your next daughter Katherine?
That’s more acceptable. Maybe try and avoid the nn Kate with Katherine - go for Kat, Kitty, Kathy, Kath, Erin etc Katie at a push.

I think it’s fine. Middle names are rarely used by most people. You must love the name. (I do too because my daughters middle name is Kate). Katherine is very pretty and classic. You could also call her Rinna or Rena, although I prefer Kate

If your first daughter’s middle name is Kate (and she doesn’t ever go by her middle name) then I think it would be fine to name your next daughter Katherine nn Kate. I don’t think it’s weird at all. GL!
