It’s very unique and very very pretty, I agree, but maybe not the best. Have you thought about a name like Melina or Deidre?

I personally think it’s a bit close to "pillar". And it DOES mean "Pillar." So whenever I see it that’s all I can think of, really! Sorry!

Agree with the above poster on it making me think of pillar, it will be mispronounced all the time as pillar as well.

The meaning is actually why I like it so much. Me and Robert met in Italy at the Church of San Prospero. He was admiring the pillars and I was well......admiring him. I went on a meaning search for "pillar" and this was the first name that really caught my eye. We picked Madden because Robert loves football, but that’s another story. Lol.

Cute story :) but not really a good way to justify the name sorry I think a child should grow up with a name that won’t embarrass them and is sensible for when they are an adult. How would you like to live your life named Pilar almost always mispronounced pillar?

On the contrary, I don’t think it’d be mispronounced. I’m a teacher and have had 2 Pilars (one this year the other in 94) in my school and no one has ever mispronounced their names. I like Pilar. GL!
