Is Michael James too boring/plain? vs. Yes vs. No

We have chosen the name Michael James for our son, but many people have said its too boring! So, do you think the name Michael James is too plain or too boring? Should we change it to Michael Jamison or to Malachi James? We also like both of those. Thanks! ~ Loren

I like Malachi James better, but u should consider what it will sound like with your last name, I am having trouble naming my son because of this

I love Michael James, and it isn’t boring, it’s classic! There is a difference.

I prefer Malachi James!!! The Duggars first grandson is Michael James.

As the second poster said, there’s a difference between boring and classic. Michael James is a fine name, both strong and handsome. Just because it isn’t the current trend of Micah and Malachi doesn’t make it boring. Go with it. It’s fantastic!

I LOVE the name Michael. I especially like the nickname Mike, but Michael by itself is great too. Don’t change it. Don’t alter your favorites just so that they can flow with trends. I happen to love Micah and Malachi too, but what matters is that you love that name.

I agree its a classic, strong name! dont be trendy, some trends fade and Michael James will age well, some names may be cute at first but think about how will it will age. Stick to it if you love it!!

I think it’s a very classy name which he’ll really appreciate when he’s an adult with a career, Michael is a name that commands respect where names like Malachi just seem flimsy to me, can any picture a doctor when they hear Malachi? I sure can’t but I can see a doctor Micheal (ln). I like Michael James or Michael Jamison.
