WOW Ariel that is the mother of all name lists! Thank you!

Hi, I am the one that had the recent polls with the names Atticus and Paxton...These are the only names my ex and I have agreed on. We are in a situation where we get along and he is being very supportive of our "situation". I want us to both love the name and feel we chose it together. I really don’t know about Paxton anymore because I feel it is too trendy and too last name first name. I love Atticus but my last name is Schuster and it really seems to run into it. I also have a dog named Scout (who is basically my child) and she is named after the character in To Kill a Mockingbird...having a son named Atticus might be a little much. Okay I will tell you which names I like from your list:

Griffin

Donovan (my brother knew a terrible kid at school with this name so I’m not sure I would give him a nephew with this name. I love it though.)

Brogan (I think it is going to be trendy though)

Vincent

Bennett

Matteo

Kieran

Emmett (love it...he doesn’t unfortunately)

Callum (love it...he doesn’t)

Levi (too popular? does it sound blonde to u?)

Noah (my brother’s son)

Xavier (is this biblical? I like it but don’t want anything biblical)

Azriel (this is interesting, what origin is it?)

Simon (i like it but w/Schuster as last name?)

Tucker (kind of cute)

When I say unique I mean a real name less commonly used...I don’t like the made up stuff or the dreadful spellings of common names. I am trying to avoid last names for 1st names but many of them are appealing like Bennett. I seem to like names with double letters. My ex is really wanting a really different name. The only names he has suggested I haven’t liked because they were just so strange...I will give them to you. He suggested Taima (which is an indian name meaning thunder). I think it is very feminine sounding but it is unisex. He also suggested Benison and Hannon which I have no idea where he got those. I think he just made those last two up in his head...I’m not sure. This is a guy who adopted a male puppy named Boots and didn’t change the name so you never know =).
So if you can compile another list based on the names I have given you that I like. I think maybe what I’m looking for is something of an origin besides irish/gaelic, english, and german...maybe something Indian, Arabic, Alaskan, Hawaiian...We are both dark with dark hair so a name like that would fit him fine. Thank you very much for your time! You definately stand out on these name boards w/your suggestions. Thanks so much.

How about Neil?

I remember a poll posted awhile ago about the "Taima" name. =) "grimace" Hopefully you can find a name you both like.
I do agree that Brogan is a little trendy sounding.
I also adore Emmett (in my top 5), but if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work.
I have never met a Levi, but I do know a Auston Levi. He is blonde though. I could see a Levi with dark hair. It’s more of the person that makes the name, not the other way around.
Xavier is not a name that’s in the Bible, but it is the name of a Catholic saint, I don’t know if that bothers you.
I believe that Azriel is Biblical. It is a bit unusual, isn’t it?
I don’t think that Simon sounds bad with Schuster. Something like Nicholas Schuster would be worse.

As for names, here are some names that are similar to the ones you have on your list:

Ruben James = Hebrew/Canadian/Dutch/Spanish

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I love several of these names. Thanks again for all of your help. I might call you out again to ask your opinion...we’ll see what happens. When are you due? I’m not due until April so I have some time. Good luck choosing your name too!

Why would Nicholas Schuster be worse? I was just wondering. I actually have a cousin named Nicholas but he has a different last name? Is it because it runs together with my last name? I was just wondering. Thanks!

I’m actually not expecting, but love names. I’m always revising my lists. =)
Simon Schuster sounds really nice. People use aliteration all the time, so it isn’t a big deal. I just think that the S’s would run together on Nicholas Schuster, but it obviously isn’t that big a deal, look at Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook). =)
