Edison vs. Harvard vs. Roosevelt

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU VOTE: Okay my grandpa is 90 years old and not doing so well (has cancer)...He is an amazing man who was a Judge in NYC for many years and he is just a happy guy that lives life to the fullest. I want to honor him by choosing a middle name that isn’t his name but would in some way honor him. These are the choices I have come up with so far. My grandpas name is Eugene and he doesn’t have a middle name but in his family if I were to give my son the middle name Eugene while he is still alive the family would get very upset...they are Jewish not sure if it is a religious thing. Here are some ideas I have come up with...Honor grandpa by giving the baby a middle name that starts with the letter E...Edison is the name that keeps popping into my head. Thomas Edison was such an important person in our history. Roosevelt because my grandpa loved Franklin Delano Roosevelt (he was in WW II). The last one I thought of was Harvard because that is where my grandpa went to law school and he is very proud of it...he and his wife were poor had a couple of kids but he still managed to go to school and become a Judge in between his time spent in the World War II. Thank you so much for reading this. Please let me know which middle name you like the best. I will find a name that fits with it later. Thank you!

Elizabeth in Montana
We like Verity for our daughter's first name, for both the meaning and uniqueness, but we are struggling with a middle name. I love cacti/succulents and thought it would be neat to pick the name of a unique plant. Hoping for something different but still pronounceable and feminine. Any ideas?

Not to be prickly, but this cacti question is a thorny one. Let me sharpen my quill and take a stab at it. Name your daughter Verity Jade, if you don't want a few barbs thrown your way.
