Katherine Tyler vs. Kiterana Elizabeth

I’ve always wanted to name my daughter after the main character from Elizabeth George Speare’s "The Wtich of Blackbird Pond" but I’m not sure if I want to change it. The character was Katherine "Kit" Tyler. However my name is "Kathryn" so Katherine almost seemes inapropriat even though I’d like to call her "Kit" as opposed to Katie. Anway... should I go with my made up form "Kiterana" or do you prefer "Katherine" Thanks for the help!

Don’t make up a name.
Don’t make her given name Kit - it sounds like a nickname.
Don’t use Katherine since that is your name.
Some nice ideas were listed above. How about Katina...nn Kit?

I knew a girl named Kitinka. She went by Kit. I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me.
