Twins and vs. difficult MIL

Hi everyone, we we are having fraternal twins and we don’t know the gender. We have posted twice before and have now narrowed down our options to two for each combination. If you could comment on which set for the different possibilities do you you like the best and WHY? Also, any ideas in dealing with a MIL who thinks once the babies are born, she will be (basically) moving in to ’help’. I have tried to be polite, but she is very insistent! Thank you!

Mila and Ethan are my favorites, followed by Scarlett and Jack. I think any combination of those names works well together too. I really don’t dislike any of your choices though!

About your MIL.. Since it is your husband’s mother, I think he should be the one to address this issue and put his foot down. I would just say (gratefully, but firmly) that we really appreciate the offer of help, but we feel confident that we can manage things on our own, and that we would like some space to adjust to our new, expanded family, and to establish our own routines... and that we will be sure to call if we need anything. Sorry, I shouldn’t assume that you are the wife in this situation, but even if not, my advice still stands and the child of the MIL should address the issue :). Good luck!

Agreed with above commenter. The child of the MIL in question should be the one to say politely but firmly decline her offer to stay. You and your spouse need time to bond with your babies without extra people around. Accept her offer to help out during the day, but only when you ask. If she is from out of town, she may be feeling like she is going to miss out, so maybe ask her to stay a week or so (or however long is comfortable for you) but be firm and make sure she leaves when agreed upon. Her intentions are probably sincere and loving. As for names, I like: Scarlett and Lila, Jack and Ethan, or Max and Ava. Good luck!
