Alaina vs. Addison vs. Asya

Do you think Alaina (Ah-lane-ah) we would call her Lainey, is to close to our 2 year old, Aliyah (Ah-lee-ah), we call her Leah? This was the name we had picked out but our family had a fit. We are also considering Addison and Asya (Asia) but we are very open to suggestions...after the Alaina backlash we decided to keep the name a secret, we only have a few more weeks to go and would love an outside opinion and some more name suggestions if you have them? We like names that start with an ’A’ or ’M’. Thanks :)

I think Alaina (Lainey) and Aliyah (Leah) are the perfect sister names. You could always spell it Elaina. Lainey and Leah are adorable!

Alaina is cute, Lainey and Leah are not too close, they sound great.

How about...
Delaney & Aliyah - "Laney/Lainey & Leah"
I think Alaina and Aliyah are too close, sorry.

I also think they’re a bit too close, but I love Lainey and Leah together for sisters. Maybe you could come up with a slight variation, like Delaney, as mentioned before...

Don’t let family make you change the name you want! I wanted to name my son Cale, but the grandparents threw a fit and he ended up with a bland, traditional name to please them. This time, I’m not telling any names until after they’re on the birth certificate.

Alaina and Aliyah sound cute, esp. if you’re going to use nicknames anyway. Addison is overdone. Aysa is cute, but probably dated.

Addison is a cute name, but super trendy and not very feminine. Why not go with Lainey as her given name? I like Delaney also!
