Not fond of Vega as a little boy first name. Vega is a common Spanish surname. If he’s a little older (by that I mean 4+ yrs) I would use more common names that he’s familiar with like:
Andrés (nn Andy)
Crisóforo (nn Cris)

I think Vega is a good name man. Plus, it fits with the last name good. I would stay with Vega

AJ, was/is he currently speaking Spanish? I mean, at such a young age he will grow bilingual (if you continue to encourage Spanish at home with him) and you can really name him anything you want. You can go more ethnic with traditional Spanish names like a previous poster listed. Or you can name him a typical English name. What is currently being called?

he is being called Jorge at the moment but I don’t really like the name.

If the child is two, it is cruel for you to change his first name. It doesn’t matter whether you like it or not! Also, Vega is too odd for me.

Well I have a few other kids I have adopted and everyone I have changed their names when they were born, basically for their protection

AJ, do you want to go with a more ethnic name?
Would you rather have a more traditional or modern name?
