Thats what I was afraid of. Its supposed to be pronounced Lee-uh. Its hebrew. This spelling means Daughter of God. Leah spellingmeans weak, weary or wild cow. I’m not giving my kid a name that means that, and not giving her a name that will have to be corrected all the time. If people are gonna b pronouncing it Lie-uh, then thats not pretty at all. Bummer. I can see the Liar jokes at school now.

Use the Italian spelling of Lia then.

Just by looking at the name, I would pn it Lie-uh. I think if you use this spelling, she will have problems with pn and misspellings her whole life. The meaning is lovely though.

Lia means "bringer of good news" and I think everyone would pn it Lee-uh.

I would pr it Lie-uh, which I personally don’t really see as a problem.
If you want it to be pr, Lee-uh then I think Leah is fine - I’ve personally never bothered to ask anyone what their name "means" because I actually don’t care. I think my name translates to "hard-working female sheep" but that doesn’t matter cuz no-one’s ever asked me.
If you’re really concerned about "liar" jokes, how about Lyanna or Liyanna?
