Manning vs. ????

Would it be weird naming a little girl Manning, and if so what is a female form of the name Manning that you can think of. We love the name but not sure if it goes for a little girl. -Steph

was trying to figure out something close to Manton, since it was my twin brothers middle name. which he died not long after birth. so was hoping to name my little girl after him.

Its another one of those names that grows on me. I can understand why you want to use it and I cant think of any other names that sound similar did your brother have a fn perhaps that could be used for your daughter??

What about a girls form of Shawn like Shawny or Shawna Im sure other will now some better spellings. I looked on another site under manning and found this Mainnín not sure if you like it for a girl??

sounds like you want manning and that is it.. if it is what you want then use it..
I mean really your husband has a brother Shawn and a sister Shawna?? what was his mother thinking??????? way to close..

Just use Manning if it is what you love.. I personally would go with Manda.

I’m not sure I like the idea of a girl having the word man in her name...I’ve never really liked the name Amanda because of that. I do however like Mandy and Mindy. Also Channing is cute for a girl too and defiantely unique.

I went to school with a guy named Manning. I had never heard that name (before or since) but it seems masculine to me, especially with the quarterbacks Payton and Eli Manning. I think it will remind people of football, which is a masculine thing.
