Why minus the e? It doesn’t look like Katie (pn Kay-tee) it looks like Cat-ee, as in meow cat!

Missing the e does nothing for it.

If you want to be a bit different try using Katy or even Kitty. I agree with the first poster. Kati does not look the way it should be said and she will spend her life correcting people.
