What about Violet Eve or Eve Violet or Eva Violet?
posted by mb :: 17 years ago | report
I think it sounds very made-up, sorry. I think your daughter will always have to explain the prn and spelling.
posted by guest :: 17 years ago | report
I really dislike this name but Eva Violet is gorgeous!
posted by guest :: 17 years ago | report
It reminds me of involet which does not have a good meaning.
I liked the suggestion of Eva Violet!
posted by guest :: 17 years ago | report
Did you mean invalid? That’s what it reminds me of. Don’t make up a word. Your poor child will always have to spell it and God forbid she has a lisp or anything, no one will even be able to understand what she is saying. Use Eve or Eva and Violet.

Evolet is pretty. I like Evolet Marina. I don’t think it matters how you spell it. It would be easier for your daughter if you spell it Evolay since that is how it is pronounced.

It is perfectly fine to use a name that you kinda made up. I actually like Evolet a lot, and I love that it isn’t commonplace. And unlike many "made up" names as people like to put it, I like that Evolet does not feel forced; it is not even remotely obnoxious or ridiculous. So I commend you for thinking outside the box and succeeding, instead of using trite names that most people seem to resort to. That said, I encourage you to use the name if you really love it.

All names were "made up" in the beginning.
If you love it, go for it. I think it’s pretty.

This name is from the movie 10,000 BC which came out earlier this month, correct? It’s unique and sounds very interesting, but be wary of how much you may care for it in the future. You don’t want your child to have one of those names that people say, "What the heck were those parents thinking?" That said, Evolet Rose sounds nice and gives an unusual name a classic twist.

Every name in the history of the WORLD was ’made up’ at some point. The name Wendy was ’made up’ for the book Peter Pan, but it’s no longer thought of as ’made up.’

I love Evolet. I plan to use it.

The name Evolet is from the movie 10,000 BC. I love it! Although I much prefer it spelled Evolette? Or something like that?

I’ve been looking for a meaning behind that name (which I LOVE) and am trying to decide if it has a meaning that is strong enough to be in my name selection. Does anyone have a clue to what it COULD mean??

I’ve seen it spelled Evelet and Evelette also. I like this name for my girl, too, I don’t know which spelling I prefer though.

Just finished watching 10,000 BC and HAD to look up anything to do with the name ’Evolet’ !!! I LOVE it!!! It’s so beautiful... I’m looking for girl’s names for my baby sister’s daughter who is due in February - I will suggest Evolet (pronounced with the ’t’) But I will change the spelling to "Evelette" and I wanted to suggest a possible middle name for you too - Evelette Grayce ?? Again a classic name with a small twist - i think it’s such a privilege to name a child and dont listen to all these negative comments about "making names up" blah blah blah!!
I think everyone should personalize names to suit themselves - otherwise we’d all be named the same boring old names like elizabeth, mary, robert, david etc etc. If you love it - go for it!!

It’s spelled Evolet in the movie (look it up under characters in the movie info) and it is pronounced with the "t" at the end. As stated in the movie, it means, "the promise of life". I think it’s absolutely gorgeous and I am thinking of using it for my unborn daughter as well.

i think evolet is a gorgeous name. if you want to name your child that i would totally recommend it. its a lot better than naming your child some name that everyone has like sara jessica elizabeth or what not. you want you child to be unique not like everyone else.

I have also researched this name after watching 10,000BC. If I have a little girl I am going to use this name. Although, I think I like the spelling Evolette. I will pronounce it with a T at the end. No one really liked the name of my son, Gavin. Although it wasn’t made up it wasn’t popular and now it is in the top 15. Be prepared to have Evolet become popular too. It is so pretty. I am hoping Evolette Arlene is on the way.

No, Evolet is pronounced as it is written, Ehv- oh- let...seriously... Anyone here watch 10,000 BC?
Yes, it is a made-up name, but it’s a beautiful made-up name. I think you’re right, it sounds like Eva and Violet together, which makes one gorgeous name. :D
I kind of like the suggestion of Evolet Pearl.

I also fell in love with the name Evolet (with the T pronounced) so did my husband. I really liked the suggestion of Evolet Grace spelled however you would like. Also I really like Evolet Rose. I tend to like to keep the middle name simple and the first name more drawn out or vice versa. Evolet backward add the h is "The Love" just to let you know.

My husband and I felt in love with this name immediately!! When the movie came out I was pregnant and we were so sure that it will be a girl, so we could name her Evolet. At the ultrasound we found out we are going to have a boy! So.... Evolet...was born 2 years later, in March of this year! Her middle name is Sophia.
The promise of love (Evolet) and the love of wisdom,(Sophia) is a strong combination, for a beautiful name that gives a unique meaning!

It's funny ppl thought the person in the comments made up the name. But also cool that here we are 11 years later and my 6 year old that I named Evolet is still commented on and considered unique by everyone I meet. Her middle name is Amerykah.
