pregnancy announcement help please vs. and opinion on our names
Hi, we are expecting our first baby and I want to think of a nice way to tell my parents. My husbands parents are no longer with us so my parents are the only grandparents so how can we tell them? =/ our naming ideas so far, middle names with be hubby’s parents names Antony/Tony for a son and Elle/Hazel for a daughter. First names Boys Lucas, Logan, Benjamin and Christopher. Girls Elizabeth, Amelia, Jessica, Catherine, Clarissa. Thanks for your help x

I waited to tell my parents until everything was confirmed as ok. We sent them a picture of the sonogram as soon as we had it and waited for the calls to come in! My dad didn’t know what it was!
I love Logan Antony! And Katherine (sp this way) Hazel. They make 2 very lovely names

we only live 5 minutes from my parent so I think a picture is a good idea but i want to see their faces. I still have 6 weeks till my scan so just have to try and keep it quite till then
Thanks Catherine is spelt with a C because it is a family name but i do like Katie as a nickname do you guys see a problem with catherine/ Katie and Christopher/ Chris being ok with our last name beginning with a C ?

Put the pic in a frame that says something like number 1 grandparents.... or buy them some pink and blue balloons. Baby booties are always cute, too

I will be waiting at least until my first trimester is over before I tell anyone!! The women in my family have a not-so-good history with pregnancy so I don’t want to tell everyone and then, well you know. There is still a risk after the first, but it’s a lot less. But can’t wait too long, people will probably notice. : D GL and Congrats!!

I really love Clarissa I got the name from a book i read as a teenage and have loved the name since =)
I’m worried about them guesting, me and my mum go to fitness classes together but I’m not a stick so I think i can hide the bump I’m more worried about being sick around them =)thanks Sophie

Keep in mind that names will be shortened to nicknames like Chris and Cathy. I like Logan Antony or Clarissa Elle. We gave our parents a photo album of our family vacation and on the last page had the sonogram. My mom actually thought it was a weather radar map. LOL! When she realised what it was, she was so excited. We waited about 9 weeks before saying anything. We waited 12 weeks to tell everyone else.
A first name and last name with the same initial can be quite alliterative which is sometimes not good. Having said that my youngest daughters initials are BB which is also her nn and kinda cute!
Logan Antony is a great name. So is Clarissa Hazel. Gl

I would surprise them with a cake! Ask them over for dinner one night make a nice dinner and get a cake that says we’re pregnant! That way you can see there faces!

Im terrible at surprises...I wanted to do something fun too..but my mom and I are really close and I work for my dad in our family company..so they figured it out on their own since I was poking non stop and my sense of smell was crazy..haha..they figured it out before we got to tell them.
