Sunny is nice. Sunni might be a problem as it’s Sunni vs Shiite all the time in the Middle East.
I’d be inclined to name her something more formal like, oh, Mary Frances, and then just call her Sunny, in case she turns out to be the kind of person who shouldn’t have a given name that’s so casual.

Sunny is a nice name for a girl, but that’s just it. It’s nice, but not beautiful or outstanding. If you like it, name her Sunny, (spelled this way) but I have to agree with the previous poster, give her a formal name (not Mary Frances, yuck!) and call her Sunny as a nickname, so she will have options when she reaches that stage.

My husband wants to call our baby Sonny too (a boy) I have told several people and they all say ’that’s a nn’ so I’m trying to talk him into something more formal for his proper fn. What about Samara ect. Good luck :)

Sunny is beautiful but I’d like it even better as a nickname for Sunniva. Good luck!

Make her middle name Sunny or Sunshine and use it as a nick name.

Sunny is a pretty nn. Why not name her Aurora or Aurelia? Both a names that refer to the Golden Sun, Morning Sunrise, or the Dawn. I think that nn Sunny would be quite appropriate her.
