Boy vs. Name vs. Help!!

Hey! My husband and I are expecting a little boy and we’re having a problem with his first name. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted a son named Graham, but the problem now is, that is our last name! We’ve looked all over and I can’t find a name that I love as much. Please help! A lot of people use their surnames as nicknames - why don’t you give him another name you like, that will be used in the types of formal situations where his surname will also be used, but call him Graham on a day to day casual basis?
Eg I went to school with a guy called Thomas Sullivan. Everyone knew him as Sully, and he was only ever called by his full name in formal situations

I don’t want to settle on a name for my son, I want to love it, even if we do use a nickname. I’ll definitely keep the nickname idea in mind but I’d still like to find a first name I love and not just like.

If you named him Theodore, you could call him Theo of course, but when he’s a baby... how adorable would "Teddy Graham" be?

For some reason the name Darren seems to fit with Graham IMO.

With the Graham as a nickname idea, I think the poster meant that the first name be one you loved. It’s just that you’re original comment made it seem like there’s no name you love as much as Graham
