Robert Paige vs. Robert Lynn vs. Robert Alexis

Really like the name Robbi for a girl. I want a formal name though. My grandpa was Robert. I know it isn’t traditionally a girls name but do you think it would be okay? I dislike Roberta, Robette, Robin and all the other feminine names that might be nick named Robbi. I have seen girls named Michael and other masculine names so would Robert work for a girl? Your opinions please. Thank you

If you like it do it!! I’m a female and my name is Dusti Daile, Daile is after my dad! I was never picked on or anything in school, Robbi is kind of cute for a girl! Do what you like!

Ok, I’m all for being creative, naming children after family members and all that but I am sick and tired of people naming their girls boys’ names. I just think the girls are always going to feel like what the parents really wanted was a boy. Don’t name your GIRL Robert. If you want a formal name and you dislike longer names that would lend themselves to the nickname "Robbi", then how about Bobbi Jo? A tomboyish girl’s name that still honors your grandfather.

Alexis Robert would be better and you could still call her Robbi if you want.

Why don’t you just name her Robbi? Robert is one of the few very masculine names left. I honestly do not understand why anyone would name a beautiful little girl something so manly.

What about Sarabi?

oh yes, name her after the Lion King. smooth.

I actually kind of like Sarabi. If she’s going to shorten it to Robbi anyway, then why not?

I don’t like Robert for a girl - at all. Sorry. If you like "Robbi", why don’t you just name her "Robbi"? That’s a much nicer name, especially for a girl.

Robert is terrible for a girl... I’m sorry, but your should seriously reconsider naming your DAUGHTER a boy’s name.

Robert is awful for a girl, sorry!!!
I vote for just Robbi if you’re set on that or how about a different first name, Robert as a middle name, and she goes by Robbi?
Solved!

If you like Robbie use Robbie,
just think how embarassing for her first day of school when the teacher calls roll if her first name is Robert and what all the kids will say to her

Don’t do it !!!!!! Robbie-lynne. If you - the name it sounds so cute and feminine and then it will get shortened to Robbi automatically anyway but please NOT Robert!!!

Okay people...let’s not pretend naming your kid SOMETHING LIKE Vienna like the sausages and Sepia like the film is better than naming your child something like Robert or Michael. My best friend is a Michael and she LOVES HER NAME!!! IT FITS HER, AND HELPS WEED OUT THE STEREOTYPICAL PEOPLE OUT OF HER LIFE.
GOOD LUCK!

Your right, lets not pretend...Robert for a girl; Vienna like the sausage and Sepia like the film are are horrible names for children!! Get real people, stop trying to be so "unique" that your children get teased their whole lives. How many years does a child have to be humiliated before it "help them weed out stereotypical people".
