I don’t want to be mean, but.... Permanent? If you want to use a word that is not just a name, try something like Patience or Temperence...something like that would be much better...prettier...nicer. On the bright side, my oldest daughter’s middle name is Rose, and I love it.

Name her Rose if that’s what you’re going to call her. Your daughter will have you to blame when she comes home crying after school because kids constantly tease her. You’re cruel parents to name her something like that. Sharpie will be one of the nicer names kids will call her. Ugh, it’s parents like you that disgust me. Makes me wish you were putting her up for adoption so she could have a normal name and save her from years of suffering.

Wow...I’m glad that your not my parents. That’s a horrible name. If you’re going to call her Rose...then just name her Rose...common sense but obviously you lack that or you wouldn’t call a poor inocent child Permanent!!! I feel sorry for her already!

Well, it sounds like your decision is pretty permanent... (ha ha ha No pun intended. Oh, wait, yes it was.) So I can’t figure out why the need for this poll in the first place? I’ll tell you what will REALLY be permanent--your poor daughter’s suffering from this horrendous name choice. I really hope this is some kind of joke.

What I can’t figure out is how you AND your husband could both come to that decision. It’s astonishing to me that two such people could exist in this small world. I tell you what, there really is someone for everyone. I just wish your children didn’t have to suffer from your poor choices.

I have actually heard of this....in Saffy’s Angel by Hilary McKay. One of the girls’ name is Permanent Rose, as in a color.
If you like Permanent Rose that much, I’m sorry but your daughter will be teased....why not just go with Rose? It’s a beautiful name minus all the teasing.

There are plenty of other paint colors that do not involve the word "Permanet" you know, that might sound better.
