Old name vs. Starting with M?

We like old names, and both our names start with M so we thought it would be cool if our baby’s name started with M. We are considering Mary…but we don’t know. We love it, but think others won’t. Plus, we’d like to see the others out there! Don’t suggest Mabel, though. That’s our dog’s name haha. - Mitchell and Maria

AWWWWWW!! Mabel is such a cool name! Please don’t use Mc/Mac(="son of") names or names that use MAD-ee as a nickname!!!

Mary is nice. Use it if you like it! If you want it to seem a little more modern, then you could spell it Merry, maybe.
I was going to say Mabel, but it’s your dogs name…here’s some suggestions:
Miranda (might not seem old but it was created by shakespeare, so yeah)

I know…we love that name, but can’t use it. It would be confusing + the dog is still a puppy (I know, bad idea…puppy and a baby coming) so its not going to pass anytime soon (not that we want it to).

We do love Mavis, though! Mamie is adorable too! And Maisie is alright.

Mary is fantastic and has been out of favor for years, its well above the top 100 right now, also Marybeth, Marilee, Maryjo, Meredith, Mariah....
