River reminds me of River Pheonix. August sounds a little too femine I think. I vote for River!

River is much better than August. If you are going to use August...to make it more manly you could go w/ Augustus and use August as a nn if you wanted. Although August is very feminine. River is OK...but again you get the river phoenix connection. I like Joaquin’s name better.

I really love both, but I think that River is a little bit unisex. August is great though!

River sounds more masculine to me.
