Makenna vs. Mackenzie

We are expecting a lil girl in May. We already have a daughter named Mackenzie. My husband really likes the name Makenna for this second girl but do you believe these two names are too similar to name sisters?

Too close. Sounds like something that someone would name their twins if they wanted really rhyme-y and match-y names.

How about: (Some of these I think are too close but you might not)
Mackenzie and Matilda
Mackenzie and Madison
Mackenzie and Mia
Mackenzie and Morgan
Mackenzie and Megan
Mackenzie and Melanie

Maybe make Makenna the middle name? What names do YOU like?

Too close! They are both trendy and overused but McKenna is much prettier and better.

Yes, they are way too close. They’re actually essentially the same name since they are both surnames that mean "Son of Kenneth."

Jenna might appeal to you since it has a similar sound to Makenna.
