Max vs. fine as is vs. needs a full name
We can’t decide if we should name our son just Max or if we should give him a full name. We aren’t crazy about Maxwell. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Max is the most common dog name in the world, and I’m not being dramatic, there are statistics to prove it...what about Samuel nn Sam, I feel like Sam still has the same feel as Max, Jake (Jacob) does too. Good luck!

We don’t really like Sam. We like Jacob (Jake) though. Any other similar names to Max that you like? Also, my husband just came up with the idea of giving him a name with mac in it (we are scottish/irish) and calling him max as a nickname. What do you think of this idea? Some names we came up with are Cormac, Macabee, MacArthur, MacAuley, Mackenzie, MacKinley, MacKinney (are these last three too femine?) Opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunately the Mac names have been taken over by the girls. Don’t ask me why. Mac literally means "son of" so they really have no business using them. But if you give him a Mac name, the nn should be Mac - not Max.
