I do not like Amanda because I use to babysit a little girl named Amanda and she use to come home from school crying because kids called her a man. They said she was a man duh. She hated being called a man. That ruined the name for me. If she is always called Mandy than maybe she would not have that problem in school. I just know how hurt the girl I babysat was. Sorry

In saying that I do know a couple of Amandas and as far as I’m aware they have had no trouble with their name. Most go by the nn Manda, or Manda Panda

I’ve always thought it was a really pretty name. Maybe it’s a regional thing, but I don’t actually know many Amandas at all. I do know one and I am not aware of anyone ever calling her a man.
