Hi, DH’s goddaughter has the name I always dream to give my child one day. Now that I am pregnant, DH love her goddaughter’s name and would have use it if she had another name, but doesn’t want to use it now. I just can’t really CAN’T GET OVER IT! We are constantly fighting...

I personally would not use it. For one thing, it was important to me that my daughter NOT have the same name as someone we know well. That meant eliminating some names I might have otherwise used. Plus, after we actually found a name that we both loved, it seemed like everyone around us started using that name. It bugged me then and still does.

if it is Sophia, Ava, Olivia then I do not think you are copying her (these are so popular). if it is Lucia, Ingrid, Topanga (less common example) then I can see your husband’s point of view.
I had a cousin use the name Sophia (my top name at the time). I ended up picking a different name, Audrey. i never said anything to my cousin like ’do you mind.’ i just decided to go with a different name.
