Niklaus vs. yes vs. no

my husband and i are HUGE washington capitals fans (national hockey league for those of you who don’t follow hockey). in fact our first date was a hockey game. we want to name our son after one of our fav players - Niklaus Backstrom -- what do you think of the name?

Not bad. The Klaus on the end reminds me of Santa, St. Nick, etc.

His name is actually spelled Niklas, which I don’t care for.

Maybe try a variant: Nikolai is one of my absolute favorite names.
