Constance- it’s okay, but seems a little prudish to me. I do like the nickname Connie though.
Augusta- the sound seems a little dull to me, I think it’s the short aw and uh sounds. I think it would make an interesting middle though.
Josephine- I really like this name. It’s classic and traditional yet not overused. And I love Josie.
Ruth- I like it. To me it sounds elegant but a little dated, but I’m fine with it for someone else. I love the Biblical connections. Ruth Josephine would be amazing.

Josephine Ruth with nn Josie would be really cute.
I like August a lot more than Augusta.
Constance is a bit too much.

Constance-- Never really like this name. I do like Candice though, which is somewhat similar.

Augusta-- This name always reminds me of Augustus Gloop from Willy Wonka.

Josephine-- Really like this one! Love the nickname Josie.

Ruth-- Kind of old sounding. But, old names are making a comeback and she could always go by Ruthie if she wanted.

Constance I think constipation
Augusta sounds masculin
Josephine is the best out of the 4 (but I’m not a fan)
Ruth is just awful, sorry I can’t say why I dislike it so much!

First I like that all your names are classic/vintage.

Constance-kind of prude but nice
Augusta-different, very pretty, and I like Auggie as a nn
Josephine-elegant, sophisticated, love Jo (like Jo from Little Women)
Ruth-kind of old lady but nice.

I think my fav is Augusta!

I agree with poster 4.
Constance makes me think constipation.
Poster 3 had a good idea: Candace is a prettier alternative.

Augusta is just yucky..you can’t make this name pretty or feminine sounding.

Ruth..don’t hate it but it does sound like an old lady. I had a great aunt named Ruth..they called her Ruth..no nn.Just don’t love it.

Josephine..like Josephina better & like Jo or Josie as a nn. I am also a fan of Little Women so Jo rocks. :) Josephina Grace?
Good Luck!

My list goes:
1. Josephine - I love this name so much! Great literary connection (Jo from Little Women), classic and underused name, wonderful nicknames - it’s just perfect! I don’t know why it isn’t more common actually, but I am so glad it’s not :) My favourite nicknames are Josie and Posy.
2. Constance - I love how vintage and off-beat it is. My favourite nicknames are Connie and Coco. Lovely uncommon choice!
3. Ruth - pretty, but a little plain for me. I do love it though, and it is very underused. Perhaps as a middle name for Josephine or Constance?
4. Augusta - not a big fan, probably because I love the boy’s name August, so it’s always seemed a little masculine to me.

Constance - I think it’s a really nice name.
Augusta - I don’t like it at all. It seems so harsh and I don’t find it attractive.
Josephine - It’s a nice name. It’s very classic.
Ruth - I also really like Ruth. It’s very pretty.
