My mother is name Erina (eh-ree-nah) but her whole life everyone has called her Erin. She was named after her grandmother.

Sorry but I think changing the spelling of Erin is a little silly. Its such a classic name.

I’d either use it as is, and not worry about trends, or find an actual 5 letter name.

Aaron is an actually 5 letter name. Usually used as a boy name though.

Uhm? Erin is spelled like that. 4 letters. Period. If you want a 5 letter name find an actual 5 letter name rather than misspelling a non 5 letter name!
Btw, Aaron is a boy’s name so I suggest you do not listen to some of the suggestions you got.
