I like Carter best, though I’d be a bit hesitant to use it because it rhymes with "farter." Carter Robert runs together. I think Carter David works better.

I don’t have a problem with hunting, but Hunter is such a harsh name. What if your son grows up to be a vegetarian?

Jaxen is too trendy and contrived. Spell it Jackson, though it’s very trendy either way.

I don’t think farter would be too big of an issue. If your named Hunter it doesn’t mean you have to be into killing and eating animals. Just like if your name is Noah you don’t have to build an ark.

I have always liked the name Hunter and Alexander, Carter is cute, we are having our 2nd son and thinking of naming him Jaxen.

I agree on Carter and farter not being an issue - my brother Michael was called Michelle and my brother Scott was called Snotty (Scotty) in school, my husband has a unisex name (Jamie) an was made fun of for having a girls name (which is actually a masculine name in any other culture) but point being a child can make fun of any other childs name - they are very creative when they are being mean (trust me I have a daughter in school).

As far as the name Hunter - erm yea I agree with the whole doesn’t mean you have to be into hunting - yes, they may be a vegetarian who loves the color green (hunter green even)?
